Sunday saw Sydney’s Warragamba dam start to overflow for the second time in a month as a result of intense rains that hit New South Wales. The most recent spill happened on April 6th, and it severely damaged a few houses.
Although it did not anticipate a major impact on homes, the State Emergency Service issued minor flood warnings for the Hawkesbury River and the Colo River. Roads may flood to a low-lying area, but significant effects are not anticipated.

There was a 10-meter-wide sinkhole in a Dover Heights residential street as a result of severe rain and high overflow in Sydney. Before one in the morning, SES volunteers were on the scene, diverting water away from properties with the help of a retaining wall and sandbags.
It was a big hole with a meter drop and debris streaming past a house because part of the road had washed away. In the twenty-four hours leading up to Sunday at eight a.m., there had been 273 calls for SES volunteers statewide, the majority of which concerned leaking roofs, falling trees, and sandbagging. Among them was the sinkhole.
