Even if a Galaxy S22 or S21 phone is past its warranty, Samsung is still offering free screen replacements in India. A software update is the cause of the problem, which affects handsets with Super AMOLED screens and results in vertical lines that are either pink or green across the screen.
Customer replacement claims made through a Samsung service center are valid until April 30, 2024. Anywhere and in any quantity, the lines may show up.
Free Replacement
For Galaxy S20 and Note 20 phones with green or pink lines, Samsung India is providing free screen replacements. For devices that are out of warranty, the company is also providing free battery and kit replacements.
The policy is only applicable to phones bought within the last three years; early adopters (those who bought their phones before April 2021) are not covered. Appointments at Samsung Service Centers must be scheduled by customers by the end of this month.
For handsets that are already experiencing the green line problem, Samsung India has extended the deadline for scheduling a free screen replacement appointment.
The deadline can be extended by the firm if the issue affects more devices in the upcoming weeks. Although this problem isn’t very common outside of India, users should get in touch with Samsung customer support if they run across problems identical to this elsewhere.
