2028 TV contract

The Royal R&A (R&A) and Sky Sports have teamed to invest £200 million in golf over ten years. The investment will support the growth of the sport through advocacy for sustainability, governance activities, engagement programs, and the staging of inspirational golf championships.

Through the collaboration, Sky Sports will be able to provide excellent live coverage of the R&A championships, generating cash to assist the organization’s broader efforts to promote golf globally and keep it alive for present and future generations.

AIG Women’s Open, The Open, The R&A amateur championships, and international matches, such as Walker Cup and Curtis Cup, will all continue to be televised by Sky Sports thanks to the arrangement. The 145th Open at Royal Troon was covered by Sky Sports on a dedicated channel, earning them a BAFTA in 2016.

Customers of Sky Sports may take advantage of HD live coverage and use the social and digital platforms to follow their favorite players and up-and-coming narratives.

With no commitment requirements, fans can watch live sports on NOW, making The Open and AIG Women’s Open conveniently accessible to anybody with an internet-connected device. NOW members may watch on the web at any time and from any location, or they can use the smartphone or tablet app to watch on over 60 devices with a Sky Sports Month or Day Pass.
