Returned survivors visit the scene of the Hamas festival massacre

  • From October 7, Israeli assaults on Gaza have resulted in at least 22,600 Palestinian deaths and 57,910 injuries.
  • Israeli forces killed the Hamas gunmen and discovered primed rocket launchers, explosive devices, tunnel shafts, and booby-trapped buildings.

Hamas slaughtered hundreds of people and abducted others on October 7 at the Supernova music festival in southern Israel. In the history of Israel, the slaughter constituted the biggest act of terror.

On her fourth trip to Israel since the start of the Gaza War, German Foreign Minister Annaleena Baerbock will meet with President Isaac Herzog, Speaker of the House of Representatives Mahmud Abbas, Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki, and Israel Katz, the Foreign Ministry of Israel.

Israel-Hamas war

The discussions will center on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the West Bank, and the tumultuous situation along the border between Israel and Lebanon. From October 7, Israeli assaults on Gaza have resulted in at least 22,600 Palestinian deaths and 57,910 injuries; in the last day alone, 162 Palestinians have died and 296 have been injured.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant declared that neither Israel nor Hamas will control the enclave in the future as part of Israel’s post-war plans for Gaza. Israel will keep waging war in Gaza under the terms of the new “four corner” plan, until Hamas is destroyed and the hostages captured on October 7 are freed.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have concluded an operation in a neighborhood in central Gaza, discovering weaponry, booby-trapped homes, and tunnel shafts. The 646th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade and the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit have been stationed in the region, known as “the towers neighborhood,” for the past week.

Israeli forces killed the Hamas gunmen and discovered primed rocket launchers, explosive devices, tunnel shafts, and booby-trapped buildings. It was also discovered that a warehouse and chemical lab were utilized to produce weapons.

In nearly three months of almost daily warfare along the border with Israel, more than 76,000 people have been forced to flee their homes in Lebanon. Since the Israel-Hamas war started out in early October, there has been an increase in bloodshed in the border region.

On Friday, Israeli forces and Hezbollah, a Lebanese ally of the Palestinian militant group Hamas and backed by Iran, continued their titer-for-tat exchanges of fire.
