Visa services for Indians are extended to Canada

  • India has added three more locations to its visa services in Canada: Mississauga, Regina, and Halifax.
  • The outsourcing agreement covers the best services provided by the outsourcing centers.
  • Indo-Canadians have expanded from roughly 1.8 million to nearly 2.4 million in the last five years.

India has added three more locations to its visa services in Canada: Mississauga, Regina, and Halifax. Applications for passports, visas, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cards, and attestation can be submitted in person or by appointment at the new centers.

The outsourcing agreement covers the best services provided by the outsourcing centers, such as recurring trips to a Canadian city.

Visa services

The number of Indo-Canadians has expanded from roughly 1.8 million to nearly 2.4 million in the last five years, and this growth has raised demand for these services. Both the need for Indian visas and consular services is growing, and both trends are positive.

Only on November 22nd, when India reinstated e-visas for Canadian citizens in all categories, did visa services return to normal.

After being temporarily suspended on September 21, in response to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s statement in the House of Commons citing “credible allegations” of a possible connection between Indian agents and the June 18 killing of Khalistani figure Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, the e-visa program was opened.

This was the most recent relaxation of visa issuance for citizens of Canada. After a brief halt owing to safety and security concerns, India resumed providing visa services in four categories on October 26: entrance, business, medical, and convention.
