Cake businesses are quite successful around the holidays

  • Cake shops are busy filling last-minute requests as Christmas approaches.
  • Only thirty to forty orders have been received by a Singaporean fruitcake store this year.
  • People are scrambling to the local businesses and bake shops to finish their Christmas shopping.

Cake shops are busy filling last-minute requests as Christmas approaches because fruitcakes have gradually become a tradition over the years.

In an attempt to get Fijians to purchase their cakes, small-scale bakers have been exploiting their inventiveness. This year’s sales trend is highlighted by Ria Lata, who runs the home-based “The Cake Story” company.

Holiday Cakes

Only thirty to forty orders have been received by a Singaporean fruitcake store this year; many customers have chosen creamed cakes instead of fruitcakes because of the escalating costs.
