It is anticipated that the IPL Auction 2024 in Dubai will shatter previous records as the ten franchises compete for a purse of ₹262.95 crores, with the Gujarat Titans holding the top bid of ₹38.15 crores.

Among the highest bidders were guys like Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc.CSK purchased Daryl Mitchell for ₹14 crore, PBKS purchased Harshal Patel for ₹11.75 crore, RCB purchased Alzarri Joseph for ₹11.50 crore, and SRH purchased Travis Head for ₹6.80 crore.

IPL Auction 2024

With players divided into various sets according to ability levels, the auction process is straightforward. The 16-year-old IPL will have its first female auctioneer in Mallika Sagar, who recently oversaw the WPL sale.

With prominent absentees including Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, Shakib Al Hasan, and Joe Root, the auction is scheduled to begin on March 22.

Mitchell Starc broke the record for the most expensive player in IPL history; Pat Cummins became the first player to be sold for more than ₹20 crores; Daryl Mitchell was purchased by CSK for ₹14 crores; Harshal Patel by PBKS for ₹11.75 crores; Alzarri Joseph by RCB for ₹11.50 crore; Rovman Powell by RR for ₹7.40 crores; Travis Head by SRH for ₹6.80 crores; Harry Brook by SRH for ₹4 crores; and Rachin Ravindra by CSK for ₹1.80 crore are some of the important aspects of the IPL Auction 2024.

Mitchell won’t replace Stokes, but his output over the last 18 to 24 months has made him worth the cost. Unfashionable as he is, Daryl Mitchell is a competitive bowler who blends in well with the team.

The head coach of the SRH believed that the team could focus on one or two players, with Cummins being a crucial member. But because Josh Hazlewood could only play in May, the third member in the trio was not sold.

Additionally, the spinners Waqar Salamkheil, Adil Rashid, Tabraiz Shamsi, Ish Sodhi, Akeal Hosseuin, and Mujeeb ur Rahman were unsold. The five-time champions paid ₹4.60 crore for the Sri Lankan pacer, who made an impression at the World Cup.
