The Rangers’ victory over the Astros forces a seventh game

  • The Texas Rangers forced a Game 7 matchup.
  • Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi gave up a single to Yordan Alvarez to score the game’s first run.
  • Evan Carter was scored by Garver with another run in the eighth inning after he doubled.

With their 9-2 victory on Sunday in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros, the Texas Rangers forced a Game 7 matchup.

After Michael Brantley walked and Jose Altuve singled, Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi gave up a single to Yordan Alvarez to score the game’s first run.

Game 7

In the top of the second inning, Mitch Garver tied the score with a home run off Astros starter Framber Valdez.

In the fourth, after Garver singled, Jonah Heim launched a two-run home run to give the Rangers the lead. With two singles and a sac fly in the sixth, the Astros tied the score at one.

Evan Carter was scored by Garver with another run in the eighth inning after he doubled. The real fireworks, though, were in the ninth inning when Adolis Garcia hit a grand slam to make it 9-2 after the Rangers also walked in a run.

After Garcia’s grand slam, Kyle Tucker robs Travis Jankowski of his home run. Rangers were down 6-2 going into the bottom of the ninth.
