Joby Aviation intends to commence commercial passenger flights with its piloted, five-seat aircraft in 2025 and hopes to establish a presence in the cluster to support the maturity of technology that will allow it to fly its aircraft autonomously in the future.

Adr Al-Olama, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), expressed his delight at welcoming Joby Aviation to the SAVI cluster, which attracts innovators from around the world.

The cluster will assist Joby Aviation by linking them with appropriate partners throughout the Abu Dhabi ecosystem, such as regulators, government ministries, and possible investors.

The extensive multi-modal cluster is intended to change the trajectory of smart and autonomous vehicles across air, land, and sea by providing access to academia, sandboxes, manufacturing facilities, R&D labs, large-scale workshops, testing and certification facilities, hangars, and global logistics integration.

ADIO is Abu Dhabi’s leading platform for empowering the private sector to expand, partner, and compete on a global scale by offering access to growth prospects, strategic collaborations, and new markets in important areas.
