Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, has convened a meeting of all parties to go over the specifics of the newly issued state caste-based census report, which has caused controversy.

The Extremely Backward Classes (36%) were found to be the largest socioeconomic group in the survey, which was carried out by Development Commissioner Vivek Singh. Bihar’s overall population was estimated to be a little over 13.07 crore. In Bihar, the population is made up of more than 63% members of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs).

Conference of nine parties

According to the report, Yadavs, an OBC group that includes Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister, are the largest in terms of population, making up 14.27% of the total.

Nearly 22 lakh (1.68%) members of the Scheduled Tribes live in the state, and Dalits, commonly known as the Scheduled Castes, make up 19.65% of the total population. 15.52 percent of the population falls under the “unreserved” group, which refers to the fictitious “upper castes” that ruled politics up to the Mandal wave of the 1990s.

The Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital in Nanded lost 24 patients, 12 of them were infants, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi extends his sympathies.

He asserted that despite the BJP administration spending billions of rupees on publicity, there is no funding for children’s medications.

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, convened an all-party conference to discuss the caste census report’s conclusions. Following consideration of everyone’s comments during the meeting, the government will take all required actions.

Concerns concerning the distribution of resources and the position of the OBCs in the state’s political system have been highlighted by the latest caste-based census report.
