  • The market for luxury travel has accelerated, with bookings 193% greater than in 2019 and 77% higher than in 2022.
  • Israel does provide a wide selection of high-quality luxury hotels that its charming neighboring nations just do not have.

Go industry executives, including Israelis, frequently go to Las Vegas in August for Virtuoso Travel Week, a chance for professional counselors to network with representatives from hotels, cruise lines, and tour operators throughout the world.

Following COVID, the market for luxury travel has accelerated, with bookings 193% greater than in 2019 and 77% higher than in 2022. Virtuoso consultants have observed a persistent demand for experiences that are exclusively yours, like sailing and private aviation, as well as itineraries that feature the most cutting-edge stimulation and engagement, like scientific trips in Antarctica.

Milk and luxury

With more than 20,000 advisors, the Virtuoso convention is a well-known international network of travel companies that specializes in premium and unique travel.

The Virtuoso wish list for hotels in Israel includes 13 establishments, seven of which are global names. There are six establishments in Tel Aviv, four in Jerusalem, two in the Negev region, and one in Herzliya.

Although the Dead Sea and Eilat, two popular local tourism locations, are not on the Virtuoso list, Egypt only has four hotels recommended, while Jordan, a neighboring country, has none. Israel is undoubtedly a luxury destination, with 3.9 million tourists expected there in 2023, and over half of its hotels are “homemade.”

Luxury travel consultants will take care of everything required for their wealthy clients, acting as a cross between a butler and a personal hotel concierge.

There are other high-end representations besides VIRTUOSO in Israel. Another significant player is Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR), a program that enables qualified American Express card members to reserve stays at more than a thousand opulent hotels around the world and have access to exclusive benefits. Other significant players in Israel include the Forbes Travel Guide, a world authority on opulent hospitality, and countless others.

According to Yaniv Kesten, CEO of Hadassim Travel and a local travel advisor for Virtuoso, Israel does provide a wide selection of high-quality luxury hotels that its charming neighboring nations just do not have.
