Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, stated on Friday that Ottawa wants to “work constructively with India” on claims that New Delhi was involved in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was classified as a terrorist by India.

India denies any involvement in Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s murder, as claimed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The accusations were made by Canada a few weeks ago with the intention of resolving the situation in a cooperative manner with India.

A senior Canadian diplomat has also been removed by India in reaction to the allegation that New Delhi was complicit in the murder of the sought separatist leader.

The claims made by Canada regarding India’s “potential links” to the execution of Nijjar, according to Minister of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, are “politically driven.” He pointed out that the accusations are somewhat biased and that the Canadian government has made and responded to them.

Although Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, stated that Canada has not provided any information on the killing of Najjar, they are open to investigating any particular information that is given to them.

To ensure transparency and accountability, Trudeau highlighted the value of the rule of law and urged the Indian government to take the situation seriously.

Trudeau stressed the value of upholding the law and emphasized how abhorrent it would be for any nation to take part in the murder of a citizen on its own territory. He stressed how crucial it is for a nation with a robust, independent justice system to permit legal proceedings to proceed with the utmost honesty.
