Before the House announced that a formal impeachment investigation into Joe Biden had been authorized, former US President Donald Trump approached at least one member of the House GOP to discuss impeaching the current president.
Elise Stefanik, who was the first Republican to call for an investigation into the Democrat President’s impeachment, was the chair of the House GOP Conference when Trump met with her.
Impeaching Biden
Over dinner with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a supporter of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Trump, and his steadfast buddy Stefanik discussed the impeachment.
In a recent post on social media, Trump stated, “Either IMPEACH the BUM or fade into OBLIVION.” He has been outspoken about wanting to remove Biden from office. WE WERE TARGETED BY THEM.
During his service as US President, Trump was impeached twice: once for his campaign of pressure against Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Joe Biden’s business dealings in the country, and once for his participation in the Capitol riot on January 6.
Biden’s health and temperament as the president of the United States have been questioned by several Republican lawmakers, including Trump.
