Biden will visit India tomorrow after failing a COVID test at the G20 summit

  • The COVID-19 result for Biden was negative, and he will now go to India to attend the G20 Summit.
  • The US will concentrate its efforts at the G20 summit on providing support for poor nations.
  • Biden will also be pleading with G20 members to act as leaders in the global economy by offering real debt relief.

The COVID-19 test result for US Vice President Joe Biden was negative, and he will now go to India to attend the G20 Summit on Thursday. After First Lady Jill Biden’s virus test was positive the previous day, the announcement was made.

The G20 summit’s public sessions will be attended by Biden, 80, as well as a private meeting with Prime Minister Modi. Biden is determined to collaborate with partners from developing markets to accomplish significant things at the G20 summit, according to National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

G20 summit

The US will concentrate its efforts at the G20 summit on providing support for poor nations, advancing major issues that are important to the American people, from technology to climate change, and demonstrating support for the G20 as a venue that can deliver.

The US is eager to welcome the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 because it thinks that having the African Union’s voice there will strengthen the G20.

The US will also place a high priority on radically restructuring and expanding international development institutions at the G20, particularly the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The US has led the significant initiative to modernize these institutions so they can meet the problems of today and tomorrow.

For low- and middle-income countries to recover their footing after years of great stress, President Biden will also be pleading with G20 members to act as leaders in the global economy by offering real debt relief.
