According to the PM, France will outlaw single-use electronic cigarettes

  • Tunisia has seen a rise in the scarcity of imported items offered at discounted prices.
  • Stallergenes Greer has acquired Nestle’s Palforzia business, which treats peanut allergies.
  • The French government is developing preparations for a comprehensive national campaign to combat tobacco usage.

Since last year, Tunisia has seen a rise in the scarcity of imported items offered at discounted prices, with store shelves empty of dairy, wheat, sugar, and cooking oil. This has raised questions regarding the accessibility of Novo Nordisk’s weight-loss medication Wegovy in the UK because individuals who can afford to pay out of pocket would have better access to it than others who seek treatment through the nation’s publicly funded healthcare system.

Given that Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) is struggling financially and has record-high waiting times, this could exacerbate health disparity in the nation with the highest rates of obesity in Europe.

The biopharmaceutical company Stallergenes Greer, which specializes in allergy detection and treatment, has acquired Nestle’s Palforzia business, which treats peanut allergies.

A month’s supply of Wegovy will cost between 199 and 299 pounds ($251-$377) from the UK-based online pharmacy company Simple Online Pharmacy for patients with private insurance or those paying out of pocket. Wegovy is being aggressively marketed by Novo Nordisk in Europe in an effort to persuade insurers and governments there to pay for the medication.

Some Britons may soon be able to receive Wegovy injections for weight loss after Novo Nordisk released the medication in the UK on Monday. This marks the company’s entry into its second significant European market in less than a month, despite challenges in meeting growing demand.

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne declared that France intends to outlaw disposable electronic cigarettes, citing public health concerns as a major factor. Borne also stated that the government is developing preparations for a comprehensive national campaign to combat tobacco usage.
