Since last month, NCCF and NAFED have been selling tomatoes at a limited rate in the interest of the Customer Undertakings Service to contain the cost rise. At first, the financed rate was fixed at Rs 90 for every kilogram which had been progressively scaled down by the decrease in costs to guarantee advantages to the shoppers.

Until now, more than 15 lakh kilogram of tomatoes have been obtained by the two organizations and are being offered to retail shoppers in significant utilization places in the country, it said.

These areas incorporate Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan (Jaipur, Kota), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj), and Bihar (Patna, Muzaffarpur, Arrah, Buxar).
