Beginning on 20 July, the Parliament’s monsoon session will discuss topics such as the unrest in Manipur, railway security, unemployment, inflation, the condition of the India-China border, and the trade balance.

On the opening day of the session, certain parties want to introduce a motion for adjournment, and the opposition will call for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be present for the proceedings.

The Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023 is one of 31 bills that the government has scheduled a significant amount of legislative work during the monsoon session.

  • Parliament‘s monsoon session on Manipur unrest, railway security, unemployment, and inflation.
  • Parties propose adjournment motion, opposition calls for Modi’s presence.
  • Opposition leaders convened in Parliament to strategize the Monsoon Session strategy.

According to Union Minister Piyush Goyal, the opposition has made up their minds to prevent the functioning of the Parliament, adding that Congress and other Opposition parties hindered the House’s business and prevented discussions from going as planned.

The Rajya Sabha was suspended until two o’clock due to disagreements among the MPs over the Manipur issue and the Short Duration Discussion and Discussion under Rule 267 in the House.

To plan a common strategy for the Monsoon Session, opposition leaders convened in Parliament when Sonia Gandhi arrived. In Parliament, PM Modi asked about Sonia Gandhi’s wellbeing.

Thursday’s Rajya Sabha proceedings were suspended for about an hour out of respect for the late senior BJP leader and sitting MP Hardwar Dubey. Dubey passed away last month.
