Technopark revenue raises to Rs.9,775 crores

IT exports from the Thiruvananthapuram Technopark Campus rose by 15% to Rs 9,775 crore for the financial year 2021-22, according to figures released on Wednesday.

 In the financial year 2020-21, total exports reached Rs 8,501 crore. The first in the country when it opened here in the late 1990s, Technopark is now 70,000 employees, working in 470 businesses and a total of 10.6 million square meters over past one and half years. During the period from April to November 2022, 37 new office spaces have been allocated to IT/ITeS companies.

Growth of Technopark

 In the last 18 months, Technopark has allotted 78 office spaces to companies covering an IT built-up area of ​​2,68,301 square feet. The CEO of Kerala IT Parks, Snehil Kumar Singh said that Technopark’s role in Kerala’s IT exports is deep and growing every year.

  • “Technopark is considering a new vision for growth and developing its product offering to attract more business and investment to the state,” he said.
  • The Government of India has recognized Technopark for filing GST tax correctly in the financial year 2021-2022.
  • It has also received CRISIL (Credit Rating Information Service of India) rating of A+/Stable till June 2023.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, in a Facebook post on Thursday, said that the IT industry is reaching a high point and its achievements are the result of various programs undertaken by the LDF government to ensure the growth of the IT industry in the southern states.

 New business and construction have boosted the development of Technopark, he said. “The government-sponsored development project, the unparalleled work ethic of the Technopark, is indeed a catalyst for progress. The IAS officer added.
