Girls Dominate PSEB and CBSE Class 12 Results 2025

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have released their Class 12 board exam results for the academic year 2024-25, revealing a significant gap in performance between girls and boys.

Despite the overall improvement in pass percentages, the gender disparity remains evident in the Class 12 results. In PSEB, out of 1.69 million students, 1.49 million cleared the exams, marking a pass percentage of 88.39%.

PSEB and CBSE 12th Board Exams 2025: Girls Outshine Boys Once Again

The 2025 PSEB and CBSE Class 12 board exam results indicate a remarkable trend — girls have outperformed boys in both state and central board examinations. The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) recorded a 94.32% pass rate for girls, a notable margin above the boys’ pass rate of 88.08%. Meanwhile, CBSE results show girls maintaining a stronghold with a pass percentage of 91.64% compared to boys’ 85.70%.

In terms of overall performance, PSEB’s Class 12 results saw a total of 1.69 million students appearing for the exams, with 1.49 million successfully clearing them. The pass percentage of 88.39% is a slight increase from last year’s 87.98%, signaling a positive trend in academic achievement. Similarly, CBSE also registered a marginal rise in pass percentages, reinforcing the importance of focused academic efforts.

While both PSEB and CBSE have reported an uptick in pass percentages, the consistent success of female students underscores their dedication and academic competence. Educational institutions are now shifting their focus to creating more supportive environments to maintain and further enhance this positive trajectory for all students.

The data further illustrates a significant performance gap, with girls outperforming boys in both PSEB and CBSE exams. This consistent trend raises important questions about gender dynamics in education and the need to address underlying factors contributing to boys’ relatively lower success rates.

The 2025 PSEB and CBSE Class 12 results not only highlight the impressive performance of female students but also underscore the necessity to bridge the gender performance gap in education.
